Abstract:
In this talk, a new methodology for spacecraft rendezvous will be proposed that overcomes three challenges: optimality, robustness, and constraints. To this end, a matching-based robust model predictive controller will be developed in the presence of actuator faults and model uncertainties, also assuming input/state constraints. This controller will be robust and fault tolerant by matching a predesigned robust controller, but will optimally satisfy the constraints when they are active. Its effectiveness and efficiency will be shown through experimental tests using air bearing-based spacecraft simulators.
