Humankind is facing new challenges never experienced before. These challenges no longer respond to traditional solutions; they demand new, innovative and blended responses. In its effort to serve humanity and its communities, Yonsei University has strived to seek the highest knowledge and to produce talented next generation through quality education and rigorous research. As an extension of that commitment, the Institute for Global Engagement and Empowerment (IGEE) is established through the collaboration of numerous organizations at Yonsei University. The Institute will contribute to the Korean society and the international community by encouraging creative collaboration of intelligent, human and material resources. The collaborative engagement of the IGEE will offer a new dimension of social service to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Korea and overseas. I hope that the IGEE will be an iconic institute to inspire the founding spirit of Yonsei - Creativity, Christianity, and Connectivity.
