Join us in discovering peaceful study spots, both on and off campus, where you can find the perfect balance of productivity and relaxation.

These recommendations will guide you through the accessibility and opening hours of university facilities while also sharing popular student hangouts nearby. Whether it's a quiet nook on campus or a favorite spot just a short walk away, prepare for a semester filled with comfortable and enjoyable study sessions.

Student Union Building:

On the second floor of the Union Building, you can find a lovely space for reading and studying, which is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Several big tables are provided for students, as well as spaces along the windows. If you would like more space and privacy, there are also cubicles with writing boards that are often empty and free to use. As an extra, only one floor below is a convenience store and the Tresbien coffee shop (8:50 am – 7:00 pm), which is optimal for study breaks with your friends.

Main Library:

The Central Library and Samsung Library are very obvious choices, but with their many floors and facilities, it is easy to lose oversight over availability and opening hours.

Generally, in the Central Library, most floors are open from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm for the Central library from Monday to Friday, except for the study rooms on the 5th and 6th floor, which are open until 11:00 pm, and the 24-hour study room.

Remember that you often need to reserve a place to study, and you can do this at the machine on the left wall right after the main entrance or via the app.
You can find the app here.

If you feel like taking a break in the library, there is a coffee place on top of the Samsung library (삼성학술정보관) with a wide rooftop area and a fantastic view over the campus. The Cafe is only open during workdays, though.

Mahogany Cafe:

You will find the Mahogany Café in Engineering Hall 4 near the main gate. A former Yonsei engineering student runs this coffee place, providing excellent coffee, a relaxing atmosphere, and plenty of space to study or chat with friends. Have a look at their Instagram!

Recommendations by students

- Stefanie (PIC) loves the cafe Chocolate Blossom (초코블로썸), close to the main gate of Yonsei. It is open from 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm and offers coffee and a variety of chocolate drinks. Stefanie says to remember that it is a relatively small cafe, but it provides a cozy atmosphere. Nevertheless, she would not recommend it for studying. Naver: https://naver.me/52lTG7OV

- Zimmer (ITFM) recommends the Cafe From Hearts (프롬하츠커피) in Sinchon. The cafe opens early, at 8:00 am, and closes around 22:30. She also likes the friendly owners and the tasty desserts. Also, the bright windows and three-story buildings offer a comfortable space for studying. Naver: https://naver.me/FVbLM7pq

- Yacheng (ITFM) likes to go to Champs Bean (챔스빈커피). It has been one of his favorite coffee shops since he was at Yonsei. It is close to Sinchon Station and has delicious desserts. The place also has a lot of space and a relaxing atmosphere for studying. Naver: https://naver.me/G2Vlc61K

With these insights in mind, may your semester be filled with peaceful study sessions and moments of inspiration. Happy studying!
