- DSP&AI Lab. Wins the Best Paper Award at APSIPA ASC 2020
- DSP&AI research team led by Professor Hong-Goo Kang presented a paper entitled with "ExcitGlow: Improving a WaveGlow-based Neural Vocoder with Linear Prediction Analysis" at APSIPA ASC 2020, the international conference on signal processing, and won the Best Paper Award. APSIPA ASC awards the Best Paper Award to the outstanding research paper every year. This research was led by Suhyeon Oh, Hyungseob Lim, Kyungguen Byun and Professor Hong-Goo Kang, supported by the top research teams in speech synthesis, Naver Clova Voice.

- Junghyup Lee (equally contributed), Dohyung Kim (equally contributed), Wonkyung Lee in Prof. Bumsub Ham’s research group have won an Excellence Award at Yonsei University Graduate Student Paper Contest (2020-2). They were recognized for the excellence of the research about object recognition, which has been accepted to IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (IF=17.861, JCR 0.37%), a top-tier journal in artificial intelligence.

- Yeontaek Lee (Integrated M.S./Ph.D., Advisor: Prof. Jungmok Seo) received a special award at ‘Challenge K-Startup 2020’.
- Yeontaek Lee, student of Prof. Seo research group, won a special award at ‘Challenge K-Startup 2020’ and received 10 million won as a prize. ‘Challenge K-Startup’ is the largest startup competition in Korea where 9 ministries including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups jointly select founders and prospective entrepreneurs with promising startup items. This year, a total of 7,200 startup teams participated, and hit the competition rate of 355:1.

- Prof. Kyeon Hur and Ph. D. Candidate Min-seung Ko’s paper, titled “Deep Concatenated Residual Network with Bidirectional LSTM for One-Hour-Ahead Wind Power Forecasting,” has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy (IF: 7.44, Top 6% in EE category of JCR). This research proposed the concatenated residual network and Gaussian distribution-based method for the wind power deterministic and probabilistic forecasting. Mr. Kwangsuk Lee at SK Telecom, Jae-Kyeong Kim at KERI, Ph. D. Candidate Chang Woo Hong, and Prof. Zhao Yang Dong at UNSW, Australia joined this research.

- Prof. Taeyoon Lee's group developed a self-woven conductive fiber interconnect with high conductivity and stretchability to implement a complex textile tattoo. This work was selected as the cover paper on ‘Advanced Functional Materials' (IF=16.836, <JCR Top 3.98%), an authoritative journal in the field of materials. This study was led by Prof. Taeyoon Lee of YSU, Prof. Donghee Son of SKKU (co-corresponding author), Chaebeen Kwon of YSU, and Duhwan Seong of SKKU (co-first author). This work was supported by Basic Science Research Program and Nano·Material Technology Development Program and Yonsei-KIST Convergence Research Program.

- Prof. Daesik Hong’s research team submitted a survey paper regarding cross-link interference mitigation in Dynamic TDD systems at IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials (IEEE COMST), most prestigious journal in telecommunication area (IF: 23.7, JCR Telecommunications Ranking Top 1).
