Academiy Track : A career path to cultivate global scholars

  • Approximately 20 to 30 Economics undergraduates and graduates attend international Economics/ Business Ph.D. program.
  • Recent Schools of Ph.D. admission: Yale Univ., Univ. of Chicago, Princeton Univ., Univ. of Penn., Columbia Univ., Cornell Univ., Univ. of Minnesota, Univ. of Wisconsin, UCLA, Cal. Tech., Carnegie Mellon, UCSD, etc.
  • Most of the students are awarded domestic/ international scholarships for the Ph.D. program.

National examexam Track: Emit Produce graduates with the ability to establish policies as a bureaucratbecome a sound policy maker

  • As Economics is related to various economic policies of the administration, many students take the public administration examination and there is a large number of students who pass the exam each year
  • Each year, approximately 10 students from Department School of Economics at Yonsei University pass the Finance and Economy field (Ministry of Economy and Finance, Financial Services Commission, Fair Trade Commission, National Tax Service, etc. ) of public administration examination.
  • In 2009, a total of 22 economics/business major graduates passed the exam (14 students in Finance and Economy, 7 in general, 1 in international trade)
  • In 2010, a total of 28 economics/business major graduates passed the exam (23 students in Finance and Economy, 5 in general)
  • Those who have passed the administrative examinations as Economics major graduates have excellent achievements
  • Students passed the exam with the highest scores for many years (public administration examination finance and economics field and foreign service examination)

Private sector Track: There is a lot ofhigh demand for Economics in the private sector. The department actively supports private sector employment such as various financial institutions and companies.
